THE BEER
At SHBC we believe that beer should be balanced and approachable. Something you'd go back for.
We brew many traditional styles of beer, beers that have stood the test of time….and a couple of our own signatures that
we have developed over the course of about 20 years.

So raise a glass, a toast to family, friends and community and enjoy the beers we make locally!
Australian Blonde
Our easy drinking, refreshing blonde ale. Made with a good whack of wheat and noble hops, it’s our most popular session beer.

Why naked, you ask? Well, that’s up to you.
Blondes have more fun
Drink it with: Salmon, Salad, Chicken, Apricots, Mild Cheese

AMERICAN PALE ALE
Our first Pale Ale. The Original is a “Traditional” American Pale Ale using some of the original hops that pioneered the craft beer movement in the USA in the late 70’s. Enjoy grapefruit bitterness upfront followed by tropical stone fruits that round out the flavour. Served under medium carbonation. Many breweries mess with the APA. Not us!
Holding Tradition
Drink it with: Red Meat, Pork, Cheddar, BBQ, Duck

OG 1.046 | ABV: 4.5% | IBU: 38 | EBC: 12
EURO LAGER
A clean, crisp and refreshing genuine lager with historic roots in Central Europe. At Southern Highlands Brewing we firmly believe that beer needs to be sessionable, and Firkin Helles is no exception. Our pale lager packs a firm yet neutral bitterness on top of continental pilsner malts and signature German hops.

So what does Firkin Helles mean? It means prost, proost, salud, skål, santé, na zdraví and bottoms up, my friend!
Firkin good
Drink it with: Fish & Chips, Asian, Shellfish

OG 1.046 | ABV: 5.0% | IBU: 20 | EBC: 10
INDIAN PALE ALE
Like all Tighthead Props, an IPA is big, strong, reliable and bold but still goes down easily. Our IPA is brewed with Australian base malts and one speciality. Hopped up with heavy hitters like Warrior and Chinook, its still pretty simple (like most Tightheads!)
One for the beer lovers
Drink it with: Curry, Apple Tart, Blue Cheese, Chilli

OG 1.059 | ABV: 6.5% | IBU: 59 | EBC: 13
RED ALE
This malty gem combines the best of the Celtic region with its beautiful malts and hops. We have teamed it up with an old English yeast to throw flavours of raisin, roast and hints of nutmeg creating a cracking ale with the deep red hue that charred malt brings to beer. Delivered by hand pump this ale is low in carbonation and smooth.
Smooth Operator
Drink it with: Sausage, Roast Meats, Pork Belly, Grilled Vegetables, Bread & Butter Pudding

PORTER
This Porter is short and dark, but never underestimate the understated. It is very handsome. Let the colour lead you into the forest of dark chocolate and burnt toffee imbued in the roast malt. Both of SHB’s founders, Camo and Ben, lost their fathers to brain cancer so Southern Highlands Brewing Co donates a $1 per every litre sold to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Served on a stout tap, low carbonation and a tight velvet head.
A dollar a litre
Drink it with: Cherries, Mushrooms, Oysters, Coconut, BBQ, Ice Cream, Chocolate

OG 1.049 | ABV: 5.5% | IBU: 34 | EBC: 70
STAYING PALE ALE
Brewed specifically for the locally renowned annual Bong Bong Picnic Races in Kangaloon, and to honour the event’s efforts to maintain civility by insisting on mid-strength beer. SHBC decided that “if it has to be mid-strength, let’s make it a good one…one with flavour.” A generous amount of Vienna malt and restraint with late kettle hops make this one a winner. Get on! Back it in!
Mid-Strength, Giddy Up!
Drink it with: Fish, Asian, Vegetables
